Celebrating Zyxel's 35th Anniversary by Giving Back to the Community

On July 18th, Zyxel employees stepped away from their professional routines to make a significant impact at the OC Food Bank in Garden Grove. In celebration of our 35th company anniversary and marking our 9th year of community service in Orange County, Zyxel employees and their families united to perform good deeds. The group was divided into two teams: one team unsealed and stacked goods from pallets, while the other worked on the assembly line, packing boxes with cereals, peanut butter, pasta, canned goods, and more. These assembled boxes will provide monthly support to 25,500 low-income seniors, distributed across over 70 sites in Orange County and surrounding areas.

The OC Food Bank
The OC Food Bank, a program of the Community Action Partnership of Orange County, unites communities to combat hunger and malnutrition. By partnering with over 300 local charities, soup kitchens, and community organizations, we provide essential support. Through donated food, USDA commodities purchased food, and the generous contributions of individuals, we assist nonprofit agencies serving low-income families and individuals. Annually, the food bank distributes over 23 million pounds of food.

A Day of Impact
Over 70 Zyxel employees participated in assembling food packages for low-income seniors. The Zyxel team successfully completed 31 pallets and 2,800 boxes.

Here are some thoughts from Zyxel team members:

Marcus Holmes, Sales Engineer, who participated with his wife remarked, "Participating in Zyxel's 35th anniversary by supporting the OC Food Bank was incredibly rewarding. Seeing our team and their families come together to help thousands of low-income seniors showcased Zyxel's strong commitment to community service."

Olga Diaz, Channel Sales Coordinator, "I feel so fortunate to work for a company that cares about the community. My family enjoys the Day of Giving; it shows my grandchildren the importance of using our resources to help others."

Yvonne Lee, Accounting Associate, “Every year, I participate in Zyxel's Day of Giving with many team members. This year, we volunteered at the OC Food Bank in Garden Grove. Seeing our team assemble boxes and knowing thousands of families would benefit was exciting. I'm proud to be a part of Zyxel."

Ruben Landeros Jr., Assistant VP of Operations and IT, “Participating in the food bank charity event was truly fulfilling. It was fun, fast-paced, and filled with a healthy dose of sweat equity. The competitive spirit to complete the most pallets brought us together, making it an incredible team-building activity. I look forward to more opportunities to give back to our community in such impactful ways.”

After volunteer work at the OC Food Bank, team members returned to the office for a lunch organized by the food committee. They set up a canopy, tables, and a grill in the Zyxel parking lot, making it a fun and rewarding day for everyone involved.

The event was a resounding success, showcasing the hard work and dedication of Zyxel employees. We can't wait for our 10th Day of Giving event next year!
